Does anyone have Del's 5" two piece tube mold? I've got this one on order and am looking forward to trying it. Looks like it could be a little more difficult. It says something about moving the rod inside for different tubes. You got time to tell me how that works Del or someone else? If anyone has some pics of a tube they poured with this mold? I just really started using tubes this year and have really enjoyed using them. Any other tips you can pass on for this mold would be great. I'll be sure and post a pic or two after I try it. Any recipes for tubes would also help alot. Thanks in advance for the help.

I also have a tube mold on order, the way I understand it is you have to pour down the side of the mold with a very hot thin sream of plastic. It may also help to warm up the mold before you pour the plastic.
When moving the rods this will creat a thicker part on the top of the mold,I haven't tryied it yet(maybe some one else could explain better)this may or may not create a different action or it just makes for a thicker head on the tube. sorry if this doesn't help?? but can't wait to get my mold to start pouring and experimenting with them.

I went and picked up some steel stock and made some new rods for my tube molds. I probably cut them down by at least half of the original rods. I prefer these tubes to the ones with the more hollow body. They poured just as easy and are a little more beefy in my opinion. I tried to make the rods look just like Del's. I ran the edges on a bench grinder to give a nice smooth rounded edge. I fell in love with fishing tubes last year and can't wait to hit the water with these ones this Spring. All this plastic pouring is going to make me get the boat out a little, ok alot, earlier than normal I think. I haven't been able to even fish my own baits yet!! I've got a friend I've given some of my sticks to and he's done well.

I Have The Mold. It Is A Bear To Get Used To Pouring. I Found It Easier To Simply Keep It On My Stove On The Lowest Heat Setting. It Pours Nice.
