Hi Del,

I got a new 5 gallon bucket with the new lid. I have to say, at first sight I thought I would really like it, but when I got it home I realized that I liked the old style MUCH better. First of all, with the 5 gallon bucket you have to be able to mix it before you use it. I prefer to use my drill and paddle wheel. It will not fit into the pour spout. Therefore, you must remove the lid. Well, the lid does not have a tear tab. I had to cut it open with a box cutter. Since I have done that, it does not seal up as good as the normal one I use to get.

Can I request the normal style lid in the future with no pour spout?

Thanks,

Ryan

due to fed x busting a heck of alot of 5 gallon buckets we had to go this route.
They are a pain to open, home depot sells a bucket opener and we also found the turbo stirrers can be bought in a small size at home depots and other paint stores that will fit into the opening.

I forgot you pick up yes you can get them in the old style buckets but we cant ship that way anymore.

If you are buying five-gallon buckets on a regular basis, you may want to keep one of the empties and transfer your new plastic to it. You can pour the new bucket thru the pour spout and not have to open it up.

If you don't have an empty bucket, hardware stores carry them. They are in the paint dept.

My bucket supplier has said the best opener for these lids is a metal one. The plastic openers that are intended for the old lids we used are not strong enough.
