In the past there has been some discussion on dents in the finished bait on the two part molds. I've also had the problem but think I have figured it out.

Pouring today I was getting some "dented" sticks, not all of them, just some. After just filling the mold, I had to take a phone call and when I came back later, I opened the mold and lo and behold, no dents. I started letting them sit in the mold longer to cool and again no dents. It seems that when we "rush" the process by opening the mold too soon we get dents.

It really slows down the process, but to Del's glee, the answer is to slow down or buy more molds.

I agree with you on the slow down- had to get a seven cavity mold so production wouldn't suffer- but no dented stiks.

I agree. I found when I let them sit longer, the dents were gone.
