The CHUB E is a 5" long one Cavity mold. It is very easy to pour and extreamly easy to pour multiple Colors.
Mold:
The mold is a 2 piece mold with a fixture to hold the insert in place, whether it be our inserts or your own type of insert.
The bait is a little over 5" long and the body is a little over 3/4" wide, It has 2 wings one on each side that.
I recommend that you use a med Plastic to a hard plastic to pour these baits.
The hardness of the plastic will determine the amount of action in the tail and the way it swims in the water.
Generally this bait is slow rolled, I have not tried it yet to burn it in, but I am guessing you will have to use a harder plastic.
Line Inserts:
I made the CHUB E to Accept Non slip Aluminum inserts that we Sell, or it will Accept your own version with no to very little modification.
Some people like to put mojo weights in the front end or they want to use there own line inserts.
We have the inserts available in quantities of 10, 50, 100, and 500
EYES:
The CHUB E has 1/2" dia, eye sockets so it will accept eyes up to 1/2" dia. The eye sockets are recessed so they will look natural.
We will be selling Eye's in many sizes and colors in the near future.
While glue in eyes work(sticky back eye's) , I recommend that you use a clear PVC Cement or super glue in the back of the eye to glue it to the body.

the pearl white was a bad color to take a picture with, as it doesnt show the detail as well.
I will pour some more colors this weekend, you can also see the Line Insert in the front of the bait. that insert is in the mold before you pour.

Very nice! What kind of hook do you recommend?
I believe its a 1/0 treble, you feed the line threw the line insert then tie on a treble, leave one of the hooks imbedded in the bototm of the bait.
kinda like this

On most things I would agree. Some things I am glad we are behind you guys on!!!!
Where does the Chub e pour from? Nose? Hope not as it is near impossible to do 2 or 3 colored baits with the nose pour mold.
I'll look for the others as well so I can add a swimbait to my list.
pours from the top
they have flat tops like the org's
they do take alot of plastic so a cooling fan is nice as they take a while to cool off.
pour 3-6 colors its easy
yeah I know we are on the other end when it comes to worms and creatures frogs and suck, we are the ones 4 years behind., our stores dont carry alot of things your stores do.

$2 for one insert?? Could you post a picture of the insert? the ones used in the Tiny e are about the size and shape of a worm weight.
I will post a pic of them soon, I have another run of 500 I am making tonight. My goal was to have them around 1-1.25 each

Can we get a picture of the actual molds?? Those things look great by the way.
Bc,
I don't want to sound like a dick but ;)
I am getting leary of putting certain molds on this site anymore, mainly due to all the work and figuring out I do ,then I have some dumb ass come into my shop look on my desk and take them to someone else and and make them.
Same thing happened with my bass trix type molds. I am pretty sure I found a way to make them faster than basstrix does.
I might put this mold picture online this weekend, and just cover up some of the hard to figure out stuff.

Del,
how do you pour this bait? do you pour the bottom first? or the top first?
its a flat topped bait, pours right through the top like a one piece mold.
Del,
Do you have plans on making a smaller version of this bait? Somewhere in the 3 1/2 to 4 inch range?
Eric
Yeah, I have that one sitting here also.
just need to run some stock.
Been swamped this last week.
That basstrix one is cake. I will explain that in the next few days.

Thanks for the pics!! Those look good. I did pour some but went on to the paddle tails. Have you tested the inserts out. I have several I have used and the inserts come out after about 1 hours of fishing. Needed glue every time to keep them in. Beware of the eyes also, they will fall off easy as well (after about 5-7 days) if you use the stick on ones. The plastic and adhesive react to break the eye down completely.
They do catch fish though!!!

The insert don't come out unless the plastic is ripped in the front of the nose. My fishing partner has been throwing the same bait for 2 months(maybe 8 trips) and its tore to crap and the insert still won't come out.
Besides you don't have a chub E mold nor these inserts, we have a completely different insert than the mold you have . ;)
if you use the right size eyes they will be tight going into the indent , if you don't have a indent for the eyes there is a good glue that you can buy that will keep them from coming off I can't remember the exact name nor the company name. Some of my customer have used PVC cement mixed with a touch of acetone they say that works also.

yeah, not to shabby for my first pours with this style mold. i guess i'll have to fill you in a little better this time. these inserts are killer but they do need some glue at the nose & the belly side but if your plastic is hard enough it tends to hold better & i use (mend it) glue from swimbait nations it's the best stuff you can find for gluing plastic baits back together even works great for the eyes & inserts too.

True Del...I did not have those inserts. Even the California Swim Babes inserts come out, especially if you catch a fish. (See their video from when Ike was catching fish, you can see the insert pop out and down the line.)
I don't have the mold anymore but enjoy seeing the baits guys are pouring out of them. With the 3 color pours, the baits look more like baitfish than almost anything I see out there!
Reason I asked about the eyes is that I use a lot of them and the companies that manufacturer the eyes do not recommend them to be used ON soft plastic because the plastic interacts with the way the layers of the eyes are made and causes the eye to fall apart after a short time. I was making my own after having the problem.
Anyway, carry on with the great work guys!!!
Jim
I made the section a tad thicker at the nose for that reason. we generally don't have to many problems with california swimbabes org baits either. we can usually get 2-5 fish off the org swimbabes some times more but generally its 2-5, the smaller fish and stripers tend to tear the bait up more than the bigger ones do. and the stripers destroy the baits.
hopefully when you get a fish on it doesn't keep the whole bait in its mouth bigger fish the bait will come out of the mouth and you will just have the hook in the mouth.
I am trying to remember the name of that glue it was some really good stuff, even better than the one from swimbait nation and I thought they had the best. I used it for plastic before and to repair some eyes.
Pretty much all the eyes that is being used on most of the swimbaits come from that manufacture.I for get the make of it off hand but they do make the best. there are ways to make them better. the main thing is you want to hide the edges from the water thats what really ruins them is the water hitting the edge of the eyes while its being reeled in. make a indent in the bait to cover that edge and your eye life will quadruple. plus it will protect it from when it hits trees the deck of your boat etc.
these baits swim the best out of any soft plastic swim bait I have ever seen. with the exception of the huddleston. I am surprised more people on the circuits arent using the swimbabes baits.
I think we will see them start using them when prespawn hits though cause the fish are more active and jerk baits kick butt. I can't wait for prespawn with these baits at teh local lakes its going to be fun.

I also poured a drop of plastic over my eyes and protected them... Some guys here in the south complained about the width of the bait but then they fished them and the slooooow roll is unbelievable on this style of bait.
The big mommas in spring will gulp these up when you fan cast them across the spawn flats!!

Anyone have any tips on ouring these? I love the baits and the way that they fish, but I keep having the plastic sinking in the tail, which creates a little indent in the tail. Are you guys pouring the body first and the tail last? They fish fine with the indent, but I want them to be perfect.
Is the indent on top of the tail?
I pour from the body to the tail then back to the body then to the tail.
you will have an indent in the bait if you dont keep it filled, reason being is thats alot of plastic and there is shrinkage.
the hottest part is the center of the bait so everything shrinks towards it. this is very typical on all hand pours that take large amounts of plastic and if you look at factory baits of the same time they have the same dimple in the top of the tail
